Stringent laws have been devised to stop the killing and trafficking of cows in Haryana, Defence Task Force In-charge and Deputy Inspector General of Police Bharti Arora said on Thursday.
"A provision to give ten years of imprisonment has been made for killing a cow. Keeping and selling cow meat has been banned in the state. The department is working towards stopping people involved in cow trafficking," she said.
She said a Gau Rakshak (cow protector) should inform the police as and when he gets any tip-off about cow trafficking so that the offenders could be taken to task in time.
