CBSE Class 10, 12 results to be declared by May end: All you need to know

While CBSE Class 10 result will be declared by end of last week of May, CBSE Class 12 results will be out by the beginning of the last week of May.

Education News : The results for Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 examinations 2018 and Class 12 examinations 2018 will be released by May-end, according to media reports. CBSE students can check their CBSE Class 12 and Class 10 results on CBSE’s official website cbse.nic.in or cbseresults.nic.in.

Steps to check CBSE Class 12 and CBSE Class 10 Result 2018:

1. — Go to the CBSE official website cbse.nic.in
2. — Click on CBSE Class 12th Result 2018 or CBSE Class 10th Result 2018
3. — Enter your admit card details and get your CBSE Class 10 Result 2018 or CBSE Class 12 Result 2018
4. — Download your CBSE Result 2018 for future reference

Students can access their results via SMS charged at 50 paise per SMS. Here’s the number you need to send the message with your registration number based on different service carriers:

This year, over 2.8 million (28 lakh) students appeared for the CBSE Class 10 and CBSE Class 12 examinations. A total of 1.6 million (over 16 lakh) students had registered for CBSE Class 10 exams. For CBSE Class 12 exams 2018, over 1.1 million (over 11 lakh) students appeared for the exam.

There was a huge controversy over the leak of Class 12 Maths paper and Class 12 Economics paper, however, the re-test of only Class 12 Economics paper was held for 600,000 students on April 25, 2018. According to Delhi Police, the class 12 economics paper was leaked on 23 March – three days before the scheduled date of the examination.

New guideline: Oxford University to use gender neutral 'ze' instead of he or she

Deliberately using the wrong pronoun for a transgender person is an offence under Oxford's behaviour code

Oxford University wants students to use the gender neutral "ze" instead of "he" or "she" when addressing fellow students.

One of the world's leading educational institutions has outlined the new guidelines in a students' union leaflet as part of a move to prevent transgender students being offended, Management,The Sunday Times reported.

Deliberately using the wrong pronoun for a transgender person is already an offence under Oxford's behaviour code.

In a economy move set to be imposed at Cambridge University too, students hope the use of gender neutral pronouns will be extended to lectures and seminars.

"Gender neutral pronouns are good...It should happen in lectures, too," said Franky Sissons, a transgender student at King's College, University of Cambridge.

India up 21 places in WEF gender gap report

India has climbed 21 spots to rank 87th on the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Report 2016. In 2015, it was ranked 108th. The improvement in ranking, the report says, is driven largely by major improvements in education, where it has managed to close its gap entirely in primary and secondary education. With this jump in ranking, India has now overtaken China which is ranked 99th out of 144 countries. Iceland tops the latest rankings followed by Finland, Norway and Sweden.

The report measures gender gap as progress towards parity between men and women in four areas - educational attainment, health and survival, economic opportunity and political empowerment.

A troubling finding of the report is that the global march towards parity in the key economic pillar has slowed down dramatically "with the gap - which stands at 59 per cent - now larger than at any point since 2008."As a consequence the report estimates that the "global economic gender gap will now not close until the year 2186."
